Construction projects often generate thousands of dollars worth of usable materials that are removed during renovations.
Most of these items eventually end up in landfills.
Viktor Mazeliah believed there had to be a better option.
Several years ago, Tall Builders launched a community donation initiative designed to give these materials a second life while helping local families throughout Oʻahu.
Whenever renovation projects involve the removal of quality cabinets, appliances, furniture, windows, fixtures, countertops, doors, or other reusable materials, the Tall Builders team works to recover, transport, and donate those items to families in need at no cost.
From a small effort to a long-term program
What began as a small effort has grown into a long-term community support program.
Over the years, Tall Builders has assisted dozens of families across Oʻahu by providing materials that help improve living conditions while reducing financial burdens associated with home repairs and household necessities.
The program serves families throughout communities including the North Shore, West Oʻahu, Central Oʻahu, and other areas across the island.
For many recipients, these donations provide access to items they otherwise could not afford.
Why it matters
For Viktor Mazeliah, the motivation is simple.
“If something can help a family, it shouldn’t end up in a dumpster. We are fortunate to work in an industry where we can create opportunities to help people. Whenever possible, we believe that’s exactly what we should do.”
The initiative reflects the broader values that have guided Tall Builders throughout its growth: gratitude, responsibility, and community involvement.
While Tall Builders is known for constructing homes and commercial projects throughout Hawaiʻi, the company believes its responsibility extends beyond construction sites.
The team remains committed to supporting local families, strengthening communities, and creating positive impact wherever possible.
Because true success is not measured only by what a company builds. It is measured by the lives it helps improve along the way.
